Teenager arrested for school fire

A 17-year-old was arrested in connection with setting a Limassol school on fire on Thursday evening.

According to police the fire broke out at around 7.30pm at the 19th elementary school. It started from wooden palettes outside a warehouse containing recyclable materials and spread to the main building.

Before the blaze could be extinguished it caused extensive damage to the building.

Police later arrested a 17-year-old young man in connection with the fire.
